    Hot & Cold
    Friday, July 28, 2006
Well the weather hasn't broken at all unfortunately, it's still as hot and humid as ever and it doesn't look like we're going to get any rain until the middle of next week. On top of that i have developed a lovely cold so i'm feeling a bit grotty.
DH and I are going through a rough patch again and to be honest i'm in one of those can't be bothered to try frames of mind. I know that's wrong and i need to think of Corey but at the moment i'm a much better person and parent when i'm on my own. Hopefully it's just a phase. I've been taking St Johns Wort to hopefully stop these mood swings i have but up until now they don't seem to have had any effect. I'm currently sat cuddling Corey as we're still having unsettled nights and he's been really upset for the last half hour. I think it's a mixture of heat and constipation(sorry TMI!) I cut his hair today. Initially i tried with the electric trimmers but he wasn't having none of it. He screamed and screamed and made himself sick(which i knew he would and so was prepared) but he just was hysterical so i ended up using the scissors. The back looks a bit wonky so i may have to try and rectify that tomorrow. His words again are coming although at the moment it's more mimicking than anything else. He said back as in Come Back and ten yesterday after we were counting to 10.
Nothing else to report really other than a quick update in my sister. Since having her Gastric band fitted she has gone from 23 stone odd to 18 and a half so she is doing really well!

    Angry!!!
    Wednesday, July 26, 2006
I have just happened upon a blog and was astounded by a comment that was made -

wow, so much happened since i last posted i don't even know where to begin. okay. in complete random order... i got to see a premature baby!!! oh my goodness, it was sooooo tiny! (or as nadia would put it, teeny weeny!) haha. this baby was only 1000g when he came out - on average babies are like 3000-4000g. it was ridiculous! it was sooo cute. and just because of that i kinda want a premature baby, but it's probably not healthy, and really risky..so i guess i'll sacrifice the cuteness for health. haha. not that normal babies aren't cute, this one was just soooooo cute!

WTF? Please think before you open your mouth!

    Heat
I am suffering really bad with this heat. I have always been hot blooded and when people say they're cold i am usually ok so it's really getting to me. I'm sick of feeling sticky and sweaty and am having several showers a day. I've got the fan on constantly and we are seriously considering buying an air conditioning unit(if we can find somewhere with one in stock!)
It's effected Corey as well as his feeding is non existent and his sleeping pattern has changed dramatically. It's 9pm at least before he falls asleep at night and he's tired in the day and sleeping a good 2 hrs in the afternoon. Hopefully, if the weather forecast is right, we are going to have storms during the next couple of days and it should cool down a bit.

Haven’t updated in a while and then when I come to do it Blogger is down!So I’m writing this in word and then will transfer over or I’ll just leave it another week lol!I just haven’t felt like updating recently. Also I haven’t been reading many recently so if I haven’t visited you in a while then please forgive me!So what’s been happening, well do you know I can’t remember. It obviously hasn’t been very memorable or else I would right? Been doing some scrapping as usual and looking after the Coreymeister who has a touch of the devil about him these days. Ever since we got his bed a few months ago he has gone to bed in it fine, no problems. Well he lulled us into a false sense of security and now we are paying lol! We put him to bed at 7pm every night and for the last week it’s been about 9pm when he has gone to sleep. Maybe it’s the heat. Also he never used to get out of bed, not even in the mornings. He would just make a noise so we knew he was awake and then we would go in and get him. Well for the last couple of nights we have out him to bed and then gone downstairs only to hear the pitter patter of tiny feet running around upstairs. We are going to have to buy a gate for his bedroom door at this rate the little tinker. Feeding is still poor but I’m hoping it’s the weather. Speech has been slowly progressing this week but he has trouble expressing himself. He knows quite a few words now but will only say a lot of them when you ask him too. It’s as if he forgets about them until you remind him. The cute ones from the last couple of weeks are Oh dear and No Way! They are very cute! The speech Therapist has been today and has been really helpful. She is referring him to the education department so that if he needs help when he goes to preschool and nursery they will be aware of him. We are going to be using sound cards to see if they help. They are pictures that help teach different sounds. We’ll be getting these shortly so hopefully these will help. Also later next yr we will qualify for something called ICAN which they have told me is very good but he is a little young for this right now.She also thinks he has over pronation with his feet. I have contacted out Physiotherapist to see if she wants to do anything. Just something else to have to worry about although apparently it is quite common.
Not a lot happening other than that really. Gearing myself up for my holidays even if it is only in this country it’ll be nice to get away and also for us to spend time together as a family. This weekend we went out to Wakefield to watch American Football which is DH’s passion. He’ll be so glad when the season starts again in September. On the way there we stopped of at Pugneys Country Park and had a walk round. We took Corey on the little train there which he enjoyed. It was far too hot for me again though, I really can’t cope with this heat. I haven’t been sleeping well at all and I think that’s why I have a headache today. Saturday was fabulous cause we had 2 storms. The 2nd one was awesome, I love storms! Just wish it had been dark so I could have got my camera out!
Tomorrow is Jacob’s 3rd birthday. Jacob is my good friend Shelley’s little boy. He was also premature and has come such a long way. Happy Birthday for Tuesday big boy!

    Meeting up
    Wednesday, July 19, 2006
Yesterday was our monthly meet up with the Mums from Bliss. There are about 6 or 7 of us who meet up with our young ones and chat about anything but mainly about the babes. We always have a great time and it's nice to chat to other people who know what you've been through and also get advice on things. The kids always have fun too. Here's a picture of the boys together as at the moment all the kids are boys except for sweet Iona!

    Weekend

The weekend was very quiet but very relaxing.
Saturday i went to the crop which was great as usual. I managed to get 2 LOs nearly finished and put the finishing touches to them when i got home. The 'Cool Shades' LO is one of them but the other is for a DT. Sunday DH went to an Air Show with Corey & Simon and i stayed home to do some scrapping although it didn't quite work out like that as i developed a Migraine. Typical isn't it. So i soend the day relaxing instead which isn't a bad thing is it.
So really not that much happening.

    Sherwood Forest Farm Park

Friday Dave took the day off and as it's been so nice we decided to take Corey to a farm and check out the animals. To be honest he isn't that interested but he did have fun petting the goats and checking out the little piglets. I would have so much loved to have brought one of those cute little piggies home, they were just soooooooooo gorgeous! They were running around and squeeling and having a great time! Corey mostly enjoyed the kiddies play area and the treehouse but we all had a great time. It's just nice to spent time together as a family! Afterwards we went for lunch at a little pub called Rose Cottage. Very simple but very lovely!

    To hot to blog
Ok it is just far to hot!
I know us brits complain about the weather all the time but it really is unbearable!
Today is apparently going to be the hottest day in British history. Great stuff!
But on a good note it is supposed to be cooling down tomorrow. I don't mind a bit of sun but with a bit of a breeze!

    Crazy
    Thursday, July 13, 2006
Yes thats what i am Crazy! For no particular reason i guess i just sometimes feel that way! Do you ever feel that way. Like you have so much to do that your brain will implode? Just run of the mill stuff really but also we've had to sort stuff out with Corey like Speech Clinics and Eye appointments and nursery. We've had loads of forms to fill in recently(well i have) and one of these consisted of 40 pages. I can tell ya i wasn't looking forward to filling in that baby!
Anyway, these are done now and hopefully i can relax a little. Although saying that i have now been successful in getting on a 2nd Design Team(YAY me!) and so i shall be scrap scrap scrapping away til the cows come home(which i'm happy about!) The team is ScrappyFairy who are relatively new but hopefully up and coming :)
So what else has been happening? Nothing much. Corey is sayiong a couple more words which is great. He currently says no to everything which is so cute and will also say OK which is even cuter!
His feeding leaves alot to be desired right now and i'm hoping this is just because of the weather.
I'm currently gearing up for our week away in September. We're only going to Cornwall but i am so ready for the break, i think it will be lovely. DH is taking tomorrow off so hopefully i may get a lie in(i'm exhausted) and then maybe we'll do something nice. Crop this Saturday and am really looking forward to that, then DH is off top an air show with the boys Sunday so i may have a free day to Scrap!
Currently loving some TV progs. Celebrity Love Island has started again and i'm a sucker for reality shows. Big Brother is half way through and i'm desperate for Jayne to go! Also loving Medium which is a new show i just found about a real life Psychic, very interesting. And finally, and by no means least, i have almost finished watching Season 2 of LOST. OMG, what am i going to do when i've watched the Finale and have to wait forever for the next Season!!!!

    Great weekend
We had a great time Friday and Saturday.
Spur of the moment we decided to go to York/Scarborough. I found a great place to stay called Bootham Garden which was a 5 min walk form York city centre and they had a family room available which was great. So we got up early and headed for Scarborough. The weather could have been better but it was warm if not a little overcast. Had a great day there and Corey had fun on the sands. Had the obligatory Fish n chips and early afternoon we headed off to York to check into the B&B and then explore York.
The guesthouse was fabulous and although the rooms were minimalist it was very lovely. There was a really huge lounge downstairs with TV and a computer so you could surf the internet at your leisure. They had 3 gardens. One with a patio area with a little fountain, a vegetable garden where you were allowed to pick your own veg and fresh grapes if you wanted to eat in and one with a pond with an abundence of frogs, hedgehogs and fish. The breakfast on Saturday morning was immense, probably the best i've ever had in a B&B to be honest. All the cereals you could eat and homemade pukkola(muesli & grated apple soaked overnight in milk), homemade jams, marmalades and bread. A full english breakfast for me with organic and local produce, same for Dave but with vege sausage and corey had some beans on toast although he didn't want it. All washed down with lashings of freshly ground coffee, yum!!
Anyway Friday night and saturday we went exploring York and walked round for hours. As it was so hot and with having Corey we didn't want to go and sit in a restuarant for dinner so we went to Pizza Hut and got takeaways and sat in a little garden nr York Minster. There was only us there and it was lovely as Corey could run around. He ran around a little too much and ended up tripping and hitting his face hard on the pavement and splitting his lip. As usual he was a trooper and hardly cryed. He has had a really fat lip for a few days but it's going down now.
It was all a bit new for Corey and it did take him a couple of hours of messing around before he went to sleep but he slept til 630am the following morning so we were happy with that.
Saturday after breakfast we went on the yorkshire wheel and then got the little road train back into York where we went to the famous bread shop on the Shambles and got loads of loaves to nibble on for lunch. We'd had that hugs breakfast so we didn't want anything big.
We came home early afternoon because Dave wanted to get home for the england match and what a disappointment :( We were so much the better side after Rooneys sending off, even with the 10 men. But alas it went to penalties and as everyone in football knows England just cannot take penalties. So another dream over and another 4 yrs to wait for the World Cup and 2yrs to the Euro 2008, lets hope we can achieve something then!
Sunday was spent doing usual boring stuff as Dave was working.
Yesterday we had Corey's speech clinic and he so didn't want to co-operate. He was more interested in exploring the room and tampering with things he shouldn't!
Today has been an ironing and tidying up day again! And ironing in this heat is not a good idea!!
    Hope you enjoy the pictures!
