Well it's been a pretty chilled out weekend. I got to lie in Saturday and Sunday which was good because i had sleepless nights and need a extra ZZZZZZZZs. Dh has been a gem getting up with the coreymeister! My sinuses are still playing up so i may have to go to the doctors this week. On a good note i did manage to get some sleep last night. Saturday Daves footy team were at home and it was an early kick off so Corey and I were left to our own devices and in true Corey fashion we ended up playing trains as usual! I took delivery of a yummy games console, a PSP(yes i am a bit of a tomboy) and so i can see hours of fun coming from this! I'm sure DH will have a little play on it too! Saturday night we had a chilled out time snuggling under the duvet in the living room watching X Factor and Strictly come dancing, i love just lazing about and watching TV! Yesterday DH took Corey train spotting while i went Christmas shopping. I managed to get quite a few bought so was happy. So nothing too exciting really. Also managed to get a few decorations for Halloween tomorrow and a gorgeous little outfit for Corey. I'll take some better pictures of him in it tomorrow with the decorations!
Today has been nice. Although i still woke up feeling ill i think i am getting better. My sinuses really hurt last night and i had run out of sinutab so had headache this morning but managed to get something stronger at the chemist which kicked in just after lunchtime and i have felt a lot better. DH had a day's holiday today(which is unusual!). He doesn't usually have odd days off so it was a rare treat for me and Corey. We were undecided where to go and plumped for York, mainly because of the fact it's only an hour away. We drove into town and got the train up there, silly not to really as we get free rail travel. Corey loves being on the train and chatted all the way there pointing out tunnels and bridges etc.. When we got there DH and Corey went off to the train museum which i find incredibly boring and i headed off to the shops and we agreed to meet for lunch. After what seemt like a zillion shops i managed to buy all of 2 christmas presents!! Met DH and by this time the heavens had opened and we ended up getting wet(except Corey who was under cover in his pram!). Decided on Bella Italia for lunch and the food was fabulous as usual. Then a few more shops before heading home. Here are a couple of pictures from the other week when we took Corey bowling. Will upload pics from today later.
Yep Corey is sick yet again. Just after getting over his stomach bug which he had for nearly 3 wks he now has a stinker of a cold and a really bad cough. We had him to the doctors yesterday who confirmed luckily it wasn't on his chest but his glands were swollen and his throat and ears a little red so a typical upper respiratory infection. Just praying it doesn't get any worse. He is off his food again though so i'm just hoping this doesn't last long as he can't afford to lose anymore weight.
Today i've been Christmas shopping, woohoo, i love hopping. Managed to get a few bits so i'm defo in Christmas mode now. I really need to get a move on and think what i'm going to do on my cards this yr. Also i've been asked to make some wedding invitations so need to think about that one as i've never made them before. I need to get back into the routine of scrapping again too. Since i bought my laptop it has taken a back seat, mainly because of the fact i don't need to be in my craft room now to use the computer. DH is happy though as he's seen a bit more of me these days lol!
Met with the Bliss girlies this week for a coffee and lets all the kids play together. We always have a good natter and usually have lunch together. This time we met at Junglemania which is walking distance for me which was fab. It's relatively new and we haven't been before but the kids had a blast, including Corey. Looking forward to the next time.
On good news my nephew seems to be improving a little. This morning they removed his NG tube and let him have his first piece of food in 15 days. He's also been to the loo for the first time in 3 wks! Yay!!! LOL! They are now tryign to cut back all his drugs and get him off his morphine. He is still suffering with bad spasms but seems to be on the mend at last. Thanks for everyones well wishes!
Now usually i am a very bad blogger when it comes to being tagged so i am doing this straight away so it's done. Thanks Sam for tagging me and the lovely things you said about my blog!
Ok, list 5 weird things about you or your pets.
1) I cannot stand getting my hands wet 2) I have to go to the loo before i get in bed, even if i don't want to go. 3) I have a phobia about certain fabrics rubbing together(like nylon *cringe*) 4) I hate tomato/brown sauce, gravy and mayo etc.... 5) I'm a big believer in ghosts and the afterlife etc...
I was so privileged recently to be asked along as a guest designer for the Everyone is Speshal blog. This blog is run by some very talented ladies where each Friday they post a new challenge amd they invite everyone to play along. Each week they have a particular theme or title, this week it was 'In one day' and here was my interpretation-
Also this weekend was the Little CottageCraft cybercrop. Due to circumstances beyond my control though i couldn't get as involved as i would have liked but i have managed to do a couple of classes. These pics are of the class i designed(It's all about U) and the other was designed by the fabulous Kirsty Wiseman!
Well it certainly lives up to it's name lol. I am still trying to smile though. Firstly theres my nephew. Unfortunetely he had to have surgery this afternoon for a blocked bowel. They found it was quite a large blockage and they only found he had a leaking ulcer. He has a lovely 6 inch scar now . Then this afternoon whilst dying my hair(a lovely plum colour) when i noticed the lino coming away in the bathroom a little. Now we have had a funny smell for a few weeks and couldn't locate it. Anyway, today i found it. The toilet leaking under the lino, GROSS!! DH has scrubbed the floorboards with bleach and hopefully once they've dried out we can get rid of the smell. The lino has gone straight in the bin and tomorrow we'll have to get a plumber out to fix the small leak there is. As well as this i've had to cope wih a very moody little boy who would not nap, split drinks food on the sofa. It's been a pretty interesting day but one i would like to leave the memory of behind! On a good note i have my crop tomorrow and also the LCC cybercrop this weekend!
And they are all negative. So i am clear for Rheumatoid Arthritis and also Coeliac disease which is a relief. Not so sure on the osteo arthritis front. The worrying thing with my results was that my platelet count is very high. Normal counts should be between 150,000 to 400,000 and mine were 692,000. She said it probably isn't anything and to get tested again sometime in the future but after googling(which was a bad idea) i am now freaking out and have booked my blood test for 2 wks time which means another month from now until i know if the count was accurate. Anyway onto other news, bad news i'm afraid. My nephew who had appendicitis is quite poorly. He is constantly sick and his bowels are not working properly. He has so much bile in his stomach they have had to put a nasogastric tube in to try and draw some out(sorry if you were eating or have a weak stomach!). If he isn't better in a few days they have mentioned the possibility of more surgery but we are praying it doesn't come to that. All i seem to write is doom and gloom these days. Last night we all went out for a meal and went went bowling. Corey's first experience of having a a go and he enjoyed it for about 5 minutes but then all he was interested in were the bowls coming back from the machine so of course we had tears when he got his finger rolled on. He was fine though and we had a good laugh. Dave won as per usual but not by as many as usual! Then we went to pizza hut where Corey had a mini tantrum. Up until now he hasn't really been like a conventional 2 yr old as he has never had tantrums but now times are a changing me thinks. First thing he saw was the ice cream machine, you know the one where you help yourself. So of course he wouldn't eat his pizza cause all he wanted was Ice cream. So in the end he didn't at dinner and we wouldn't let him have ice cream so he kicked off and started screaming and crying. Once outside the restaurant though it was soon all forgotten until we came to leave the toy store where we had tears again. Oh the joys of parenting! In other news i have finished my DT projects and here are some pictures of the mini book i made for Little Cottage Crafts. The kit is using the gorgeous 3 Bugs Spicy, it really is yummy!
Don't you just love retail therapy? Yesterday i headed off into town to spend some cash on Corey's birthday presents and spend cash i did. He has some lovely presents including the biggest Thomas train set you've ever seen! DH was very impressed as i think he's looking forward to playing with it as much as Corey will be. It was nice to be able to wander round the shops on my own which is a rare treat these days. DH took Corey off with him and Simon looking round the shops and then to visit his grandad who he adores. We didn't get up to much last night other than watching some good TV(X-Factor & Strictly come dancing). Today i've been hospital visiting, something i really hate. My nephew was admitted on Friday with suspected appendicitus and yesterday underwent keyhole surgery to remove it. They found that it had ruptured so it was a good job they didn't leave it any longer. Anyway he's doing well and will be in hospital for about 5 days, get well soon Jake! He was most impressed with the Wrestling and Playstation magazines i took him in. Doesn't take much to please a 14yr old does it! This afternoon the 3 of us went out for a meal and it was lovely. I've found recently then when we've been out for food we've always been disappointed but we were pleasantly suprised today and even Corey ate a fair amount(for him anyway!). He still has the runs and i shall be calling the doctors again tomorrow if he's still the same.
Well Corey hasn't been sick in over 2 days so we're hoping that we're over the worst there although he is still having nasty nappies yuck! I'm not feeling too bad although my IBS isn't very good right now. I'm still having to watch what i eat a little as certain things make me feel in or give me tummy ache. DH is very much off his food. I made him a lovely mushroom risotto last night as i thought it would be quite light. Normally he would have devoured the entire thing but he ate probably a quarter of it then gave him which is not like him at all. Hopefully by the end of the week we'll all be back to normal. I've finished allof my DT work now, just have one layout to do for something else which i am extremely priveleged to be a part of. Next weekend(14th) is the cybercrop over at Little Cottage Crafts so why don't you come over and have some fun!
Well things just keep on getting better don't they. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Saturday i actually felt fairly well even though Corey had had us up all night and so i went off to y crop and had a great time. Came home and DH went to football so we decided to have a chinese when he came home. All was great until about 2am Sunday morning when we were both awake feeling ill. I proceded to throw up all through the night and for the next 18hrs. I can honestly say that i have never felt iller in my entire life. The doctor had prescribed Domperidone for my nausea but ironically on taking it it made me sick!. DH who is never sick was throwing up when he woke up too and he was totally unprepared for it. Felt very fragile yesterday but felt back to normal this morning albeit with a headache as i've been dehydrated. Then i had something to eat and have felt a bit off again so have been in bed for a few hours this afternoon. I do feel hungry again now but not sure if i can face anything, nothing at all appeals to me. I doctor thinks it's most likely to be food poisoning and so yesterday i contacted evironmental health who are going to investigate and also send me out some forms to fill in. To top off my bad mood i have just noticed that someone has unjustifiably left me 2 negative feedbacks on Ebay and i am now fuming. Can someone just give me a break please!!!!
