I really don't know where the time went today! I feel like i only got up a few hrs ago and it was 630am!(thankyou Corey!)
Anyway, today has been a 'i've been busy not doing much' sort of a day.
Waited in this morning as i thought there may be some parcels for me after spending my Christmas money, but alas nothing :( Shall be waiting in tomorrow now too just in case!
So i had to send DH to the supermarket to get the joint of beef for Sunday and luckily he came back with a really nice piece. I also asked him to get a Chocolate slab cake of sorts and i've got one of those frozen ones which are a bit sweet for me but it'll do. After Sunday i shall be on my healthy eating/exercise plan. Not a diet but just being a bit more careful. I have eaten so much crap over Christmas i'm suprised i haven't put any weight on but i haven't. Then we had relatives over with there little baby. Making me all broody again! And after they'd gone i went for a little siesta cause i was shattered. Managed to catch forty winks and then we've been out this evening. First time we've been out on our own for a while actually as we can never get a baby sitter. We went to the cinema to see Flight Plan with Jodie Foster. It was a good film and we both enjoyed it.
Yesterday we went to Meadowhall shopping Centre and i got some jeans, boots and a new top. They look really nice and it's a start for my new 'stylish' wardrobe for 2006!

    Resolutions?
Last night, whilst watching TV very late i had lots of stuff going through my mind. Wondering about my aspirations for next year and wondering if i actually will put anything i write down into practice. I usually make resolutions only to find a month into the new year i have already broke all the rules.
This year i am just going to write a list of 'To DO's' rather than calling them resolutions.
Here are the ones i thought of last night but i'm pretty sure between now and Sunday i shall think of more.

    1. Sort out the Garden, make a Veg patch and Herb garden
    2. Spend more quality time with hubby
    3. Do more 'fun stuff' with Corey
    4. Exercise more and lose some weight(this is one of those that EVERYONE has on there list!)
    5. Sort out my wardrobe and be more stylish!
    6. Sort out the house(some areas need alot of attention and have for a while!)
    7. Decorate my Craft room :)
    8. Be more adventurous with food
    9. Bake more
    10. Try to be a bit more patient and less volatile!

    Relaxed Christmas
So this yr has been a very quite and subdued Christmas. The build up was pretty nightmarish for me and i got myself completely stressed out. Made lots of crafty gifts and about 70ish Christmas cards, as well as all the Christmas shopping and food shopping and baking with no help from DH as usual. Then the anniversary of mums death sort of crept up on me and bit me real hard. But come Christmas Eve i was ok, knackered but ok.
Christmas day went off without a hitch. Corey was up earlier than usual at 6am and we opened a huge pile of presents. Corey got a rocking horse and a Discovery Dome amongst lots of clothes, books, toys and DVDs. I got the usual scrapbooking hourd and Dave got books, DVDs, clothes and some rock climbing lessons which, although he is looking forward to, he is also nervous about the prospect of scaling new heights! We had breakfast then headed out to see my Dad and Daves sister and Dad. I got Dad a digital freeview box and a couple of other things but was gutted when it didn't work. He needs to sort out the aerial on his roof but all in all he was pleased. Then back home and prepare for the feast of Christmas dinner. Simon and Laura(daves kids) were coming and arrived about 12pm so had no time to sit and chill at all.

They got me Hobbycraft tokens, Dave got DVDs and a book token and Corey got a new hat/scarf/gloves set and the latest Wiggles DVD. That'll keep him occupied for 1/2 hr! We had dinner around 3pm and it was great(apart from the overcooked pigs in blankets!) We had turkey and Dave had his traditional home made Nut roast i made the other day. We then finished off with a Christmas Chocolate pudding and double cream. Very indulgent but it is Christmas(think i've put quite a few pounds on!) Simon and Laura enjoyed there presents, and so they should, we spent a fortune this yr! Simon had trainers and Ipod speakers amongst other things and Laura had Timberland boots and a Quiksilver jumper along with other stuff. We won't be spending the same again next year thats for certain. They'll be 17 & 18 then and i think we need to calm things down a bit. Christmas evening was quite with just me, DH and Corey and DH thanked me for making it a lovely day. He loves to have all his children around him. I must say as well how much i look forward to watching decent TV at Christmas but this year has been completely diabolical!
Yesterday started off great. We don't really do that much Boxing day, we just treat it as a normal day, apart from having my Dad for dinner, but he didn't come this yr anyway. So DH knew i needed some 'me' time and took Corey out for a good walk in the backpack. I managed to tidy up and do some scrapping, even finishing a DLO!(see left) They came back mid afternoon and Corey had his usual nap. Then the fun started. I noticed that he kept falling over but we thought nothing of it because he's always been a bit clumsy. But on closer inspection it appeared he couldn't actually stand up! Everytime he put his left foot to the floor he moaned and fell over. We hadn't a clue what he had done! So off to A&E we went. We expected to be there hours. You have this pre-conceived
vision of overflowing hospitals at Christmas but thankfully there was hardly anyone there and we were in and out in about 50 mins. So after examination(which Corey really didn't like) there didn't appear to be a break. So the doctor said it was probably either a sprain or Irritable Hip which is inflammation around the joint of the hip. We have to go back Wednesday and if it's no better they will do a hip scan. When he got up this morning he was a bit stiff and hobbled for a while but it does sem to be getting better so my thoughts are it was a strain. It just looked so back last night cause he couldn't walk at all. DH was worrying himself sick because his other son Simon had Irritable Hip when he was little and was in traction for 4 wks and so he was imagining allsorts. Thankfully as Corey is better today this has eased his mind a bit.
I'll keep you posted on any changes!

Well today has been a fun day if not a bit exhausting. Firstly i spent an hr and 15 mins at the supermarket. Actually only 15 mins of that was shopping and the other was queueing! It was totally laughable! Anyway, managed to get everything i needed, just need to get some ginger to make some gingerbread tomorrow. I managed to do my sausage rolls, my first attempt at making them, and although they turned out fine my pastry is a bit hard. My mum make fabulous pastry but its the one thing i'm not very good at. I think it's because i use all butter rather than 1/2 lard with Dave being a vegetarian. I guess it wouldnt have mattered in Sausage rolls though lol! Anyway, they're edible, if not a little crunchy!
Dave and Corey have been painting this afternoon. Loads of mess and Corey had more on him than the paper but it looks like he had fun!

    Feeling emotional
    Tuesday, December 20, 2005
I'm not having a very good day today.
13yrs ago today my mum passed away. Some yrs i hardly thing about it. This yr it is hitting me hard. I just want to cry. I think cause Christmas has been such a stress this yr that i'm a bit emotionally drained. I know i'm not being a particularly good wife at the moment. I'm being a bit of a cow if i'm honest. I think after Friday when i have all the food shopping done and all the presents are bought and wrapped then i might be a bit more at ease.
My friend came roud this morning which cheered me up a bit. She bought Corey a digger(he's mad about stuff like that) and she bought me a gorgeous blue striped 8x8 scrapbook album. I'm going to start doing that in the new year. I gave her a canvas i made for her daughter. I'll ask her permission before i post pictures but i was pleased with the end result and she liked it.
Dave got confirmation today that he has a job which is a huge relief.

I've been contemplating finishing my Scrap Blog too. No one seems to look at it these days(with the exception of a couple of people) so i can't see the point in spending time on it. Shame really cause i put lots of good stuff on there(well i think it's good anyway!)

Ooooooo i'm so excited! I've got most of DHs Christmas presents already but the other day he was watching a program on climbing and expressed an interest. So i have just booked him a course at a place called The Edge in Sheffield where you climb one of those Rock walls. I know he'll love it!

Well i've had a very productive day today. Managed to finish 2 LOs for Lauras album & hopefully might get another one done tomorrow.
Yesterday i woke with a headache but soon cheered up when the postie came! Not only did i receive a gorgeous album from my friend which was a complete suprise but i also got a Rubber Stamp from the US. I heard this website was giving them away and thought it might be a gimmick but i entered my details and it arrived yesterday. The thing is huge! I mean, too big to fit in your hand! It's also now for sale on there website for $39.95, so i am chuffed that i got it for free! It's a typewriter alpha and it works great. The album my friend sent me is very lush. I'm going to do a first yr album of Corey in it i think for DH. But it will have to wait cause i'm still so busy.

Corey is being a real pain in the bum at the
moment. It starts at bedtime. He's always been a great sleeper but occasionally goes through phases. I guess we're going through another phase. It either starts as soon as he goes to bed and he won't go to sleep and screams for an hour or two or he wakes us at 3am and does the same. We're using the controlled crying method and laying him back down, no talking as we don't let him in our bed with us. I know if we start that he'll want it all the time. Anyway, it's happened 5 nights out of 7 this week including tonight so i'm hoping it doesn't go on much longer. I think he's getting some teeth too at the moment. He has 16 so we are waiting for the last 4.

There are some very sick and twisted people in this world!
As you know i am the mother of a premature baby. I have made lots of friends via the WWW who too have children who were born premature. Anyway a few days ago my friend Shelley happened upon a website showing a picture of a premature baby. The picture was of one of twin boys born at 23 wks and the mother wrote about the turmoil she is in as her babies are sick. Nothing out of the ordinary there you ask. However, one of the pictures she has posted of her son 'Chance' is actually a picture of my friends son Jacob, a 25 weeker. So basically this woman has made a website, posted pictures of other peoples babies with false details and is passing them off as her own. WTF is all that about!!! Have people got no morals whatsoever!!??!!?? It has made my friend feel physically sick and i must say i feel the same. She is currently pregnant and doesn't need this bullshit! It just shows that internet fraud isn't all about money! This is the website. There are no contact details but i just hope the person can be caught and made to feel truly sorry for what they have done.
For anyone who has posted pictures anywhere on the net, make sure you copyright them/watermark them or something otherwise they are liable to be passed off as someone else's.

Well i have been a bit of a blog neglector :( Both in keeping upto date with my own blog and with leaving comments on others. Sorry if i haven't been commenting as much guys.
To be honest i've had a pretty uneventful week. The highlight was the Scrapaholic crop last weekend which are always fun. They seem to get better and better and i wish we could have a couple a month instead of just one. I actually managed to nearly finish a LO this time and managed to finish it the day after. It's another for Laura 18th Birthday album. It was Trish's Birthday at the crop so we had a little celebration with cake and goodies etc...
Yesterday i went to the docs about my IBS. I have been prescribed Mebeverine which is an antispasmodic. I think i have used this a long time ago but can't remember if it worked or not. Anyway i have to see if it works over the next 2 wks and if not go back and have some tests, so fingers crossed.
Corey has been a little bugger this past week lol, getting into all sorts of mischief. Drawing on walls and floors when he finds crayons, eating his books and pulling food from the counter in the kitchen(my fault for not realising he could reach it). Last night he woke up at 3am and then proceeded to cry until he got up at 730. It was periodic with quite periods every 30mins or so but god only knows what was wrong with him. So today DH and I are very tired. Didn't help that i stayed up doing a CJ last night. Anyway, let's just hope for a better night.
Today we went into town and i treat myself to some very cool Ipod speakers. They had £20 off which was even better :D

Well we had a hospital appt this morning. I always get nervous at these things, don't know why.
Anyway, Corey did his usual trick of getting hysterical and throwing up. Luckily it was into a bowl this time and not all over the floor!
So he has gained weight again, woohooooooooo, and is now 24lb and has grown in height quite a bit to 85cms. All in all it was a good appt. Dr P is pleased with him. He doesn't want to see him again til April and it will be in 'big' clinic at the main hospital next time as we currently go to a smaller clinic.
He has given him some meds for his constipation and will arrange it so i can pick up a prescription for it from the GP which makes it so much easier. He said to carry on using E45 cream for his dry skin/excema as he said it is common this time of yr with having the heating on more.
So, a good day, so far :)

Well, it's been a pretty strange few days.
Friday i had the most awful migraine, in fact i would say as far as headaches go it was the worst i have ever had. As soon as DH came home from work i went to bed and stayed there until Saturday morning. DH came up in the evening to watch a bit of TV but i had to get him to go downstairs as i couldn't have the lights or the TV on. Anyway after a good 12hrs sleep i felt better Saturday. So i ventured into town to do some Christmas shopping. Managed to get a few bits including some trainers for Simon. I got a nice suprise in the post too, a cheque for £273 from the Inland Revenue, a tax rebate! Woohoo!!!!!! That'll make a nice addition for Christmas. Still don't know what to buy Corey for Christmas. I'm sure everyone who has young children has the same dilemma. He's just had a birthday and so has oodles of toys! Anyway, i'm sure we'll fathom something out.
So i got up Sunday with the intention of doing a full days scrapping as i HAVE to get on with Laura's album. But my body had different ideas and my IBS flared up and i spent all day in the bathroom! ARGHHHHHHHHH, i am so sick of being ill! Honestly, i'm sure people must think i'm a bit of a hypacondriac(sp?). Anyway i spent Sunday afternoon/night in bed and felt better this morning. I have made an appt with the doctor for next Monday and this time i WILL make sure i keep it this time. I'm just worried it's something more than IBS but we'll have to wait and see.
Sorry for harping on about this, i guess i just needed to see it all in B&W to give me a bit of a kick up the bum and do something about it!
Anyway, today has been good. Been out to the shops, tidied the house, done laundry, cooked scotch broth and a sausage casserole, put up mosts of the Christmas Decorations and finished a LO. Not a bad day really :)

    Mad Mad Mad
    Friday, December 02, 2005
Well it's been a mad couple of days! I've been frantically getting CJs done and last night started another layout for Lauras album. I really have to get a move on with this and will be glad when Christmas is out of the way. I seriously don't think i'll get it finished on time though. I have done about 95% of my Christmas cards with just a few left to do. Can't post pics yet as my American friends haven't received them yet.
Have been under the weather yet again. My IBS has been bad for about a week now and i haven't slept well for the last 5 or so days which in turn has led to be having a really bad headache again today :( I wish i could just go to bed but no can do. Corey is a bit whingey today but i think it's because he's constipated again. We see the consultant next week so i shall bring the subject up. Am praying that he has put a little weight on even though he hasn't been eating brilliantly. Saying that, the last couple of nights he has eaten fairly well for his Daddy. He's started doing a few new things the last week or so. He is now trying to kick the football when you tell him too and is getting good at throwing the ball too (although he keeps throwing it over his shoulder instead of forwards!), if you tell him to close the door he will, he can identify most parts of his body now if you ask him to point to them, he's getting very good at commands, i.e, sit down, get in your chair, lie down etc..., he's also started to give kisses. If you say give me a kiss you get a big smacker which is so lovely!

Dave is off doing an exam today. He's been studying for over a month for it and todays the day. He has one 10am-12pm and then another 2pm-4pm. Good luck honey, i know you can do it. We won't get the results til February though.
