Wow, i haven't blogged in a few days, and i'd been so good recently!
Anyways, what's been happening with me? Well not much actually.
Last couple of days Corey has been a positive angel when it comes to feeding. He's done so well and was actually in tears feeding him yesterday lunchtime as i was so pleased. He just looked at me and smiled while i had tears in my eyes as if to say 'Yep, i know how cool i am'. He's going from having just a yoghurt for breakfast to a full bowl of chocolate ready brek with added cream so i just hope this continues. However tonight he has been a monster and not eaten his dinner. Let's not start that again please!! We'll see what tomorrow brings!

So Wednesday night Dave and I went to the flicks to see 'The 40 year old virgin'. What an hilarious film! The guy who plays the lead in it, Steve Carell, is one of the funniest actors around at the moment in my opinion. I loved him in Anchorman and he was a riot in this! It must have been funny because Dave was laughing out loud and it takes something REALLY funny to make him do that!
Didn't do anything yesterday apart form play with Corey and we went into town to have a browse round the shops. Am having a bit of a nightmare at the moment with a company called Vertbaudet. I ordered some baby weighing scales on the 2nd Sept which have failed to materialise and as they are for keeping an eye on Coreys weight i am pretty eager to get them. I have called numerous times and emailed and yesterday was the final straw and i blew up at the manager on the phone. Didn't really get me anywhere but did make me feel a WHOLE lot better. Apparently they have been 'left' somewhere by the courier company but no-one knows where? WTF!!! We haven't had a card through the door and they aren't in the garden(which was where the last package they left me was!). Until Vertbaudet can get a drivers sheet or something from the courier company i just have to wait. I shall be calling every single day til i find out where the hell they are! GRrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I'm behind in my CJs at the moment and desperately trying to catch up. Tonight is scrapnight as Daves son comes over and i get left to play so hopefully i'll get chance to finish one and then i can send it on it's way. Have got some cracking pictures back from Photobox that i can use for the Cybercrop next weekend so am looking forward to that. Roll on next Friday!

So this afternoon Dave took me out for dinner, with Corey obviously. Only to the local place but it was nice not to have to cook! It is the first time EVER we have ordered Corey food too! He ate a small amount of it which we were happy with. When we got home he had his yoghurt with a dessert and milk. I truly hope he's put weight on this time cause we've been adding butter, cheese and double cream to everything possible! I even add double cream to his full cream milk now! And he must be on over 1200 cals a day now so if he isn't putting weight on now i am at a loss. Believe it or not today should have been his appointment with his consultant to get weighed and i completely forgot. I thought it was next week and felt such a dumbass when i had to ring up to apologise. There wasn't anyone at the office so i left a message with his secretary and he called me back about an hr later. He was fine about it and we go next Tues now. So i better write it on my whiteboard or i'll forget! Lots of appts in the next 2 wks as well. Consultant, Dietician and Physiotherapist. I'm hoping that after this time the PT doesn't want to see us again but we'll see.

Took some nice pics (about 50 lol) of Corey in the garden this afternoon playing with his truck. Just right for a layout :) Here's a couple -

    Great TV
I love TV. I watch far to much of it but generally only in the evenings, unless i've taped something on Sky+ then i normally watch it the morning after.

Saturday i watched a great drama called Afterlife. It's about a woman who can see the dead and talk to them. It's a six part drama so i'm looking forward to the next one!
Also am still enjoying Lost and Grey's Anatomy is just the best program i am watching right now, am loving it!
I am excited because the new series of The 4400 starts tonight and also a new series of Extreme Makeover UK starts Saturday!

Corey is currently enjoying watching Thomas the Tank Engine although i'm not too sure if i like him watching it. He usually watches stuff that is remotely educational but i'm not really sure if this is! Also, to be honest, i wasn't impressed yesterday when the fat controller was telling the trains to run off and play on the lines. Isn't that encouraging children to do the same??

And well Dave is currently enjoying the NFL season. Double headers on a Sunday, then a late game on channel 5 plus the Monday night game on channel 5. He's a happy bunny!!

Well today has been a pretty good day.
DH went back to work today and i thought i'd be a bit depressed being on my own again, but i woke up feeling positive about the day ahead and it seemt to work. Corey stayed in bed til 730am and then we got up, had breakfast and Corey played in the garden for a while while i did some cleaning. He has been so much better with his feeding over the last couple of days and has eaten way more savoury stuff than before. Just hope it lasts! He has a habit of lulling you into a false sense of security and then just stopping eating completely so i'll have to not build my hopes up!
Managed to finish a LO yesterday which you can see here. Not my style at all really and the picture doesn't do it justice, much better in real life! I want to do more scrapping this week but want to save my pictures for the UKS Cybercrop! Hope you're reading this Steph! Hope you're gonna get involved!!

    In the wars
    Saturday, September 24, 2005
So Corey has been in the wars today. We've had a lovely day. Relaxed this morning and Dave went shopping with the boys because Simon wanted to go buy a PSP(the latest handheld game thingy!). So they came back and Dave, Corey and I went to Graves Park to look at the animals(they have a farm).
We came back and Corey was playing in the garden. Now we have a very big garden and it in on 2 levels. There are just 2 very small steps to get up to the next leverl and up until a couple of weeks ago he never climbed them, but now he does.
So today he tried to be a big boy didn't he by coming down the steps normally without crawling down them. The result -

A red bump on the head, a bump under his nose and two lovelyt graze lines on his nose which must be from his face sliding on the decking!

Amazingly enough he cried very little! My poor, tough lil' guy!

Self portrait Friday is cooking in the kitchen this week. However, i am no longer near the kitchen and am not likely to be now so you'll have to make do with me having a coffee and a bicuit in my Craftroom LMAO. Isn't really the same is it!

Just to say firstly a HUGE HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my hubby today! He is 44yrs young and has had some lovely presents. He has gone off with Corey and Simon today and given me some piece to scrapbook and also clean the house :( At last i managed to finish a DLO i had been working on for a couple of days. Unlike my friend Steph i haven't had the motivation or inspiration to do 30 pages in a month!!!! You rock Steph!
I've been taking some shots with my new camera too. Lemme know what you think :)

I have been watching the news as well for news on Hurrican Rita. I am so sorry this is happening to the US right now, it is such a disaster after Katrina!
I hope that you all can stay safe! Also there has been a seperate tragedy in that a bus carrying elderly people away from Houston to be evacuated has caught fire killing 24 people. It is just so very sad!

I also got a 70-300mm lens as well as the 18-55mm one that comes with it, along with a memory card and a bag. I'm itching to use it now!!!

    I am blessed!
Last night i watched Supernanny. I watch every week, cringing as the child gets worse with each passing minute!
Then i realise how lucky i am. I know we have problems with Corey, mainly feeding related, but all in all he really is a good boy.
He'll happily play on his own and isn't clingy. He goes to bed at 7pm on his own, goes straight to sleep and doesn't disturb us until 7am. We don't have temper tantrams as yet but then again he isn't two yet so i might have all this too come. Hope i'm not tempting fate by writing this!

    Weird Dreams.......
......Last night i had the weirdest dream. Can't remember lots about it but i can remember being in the bath tub with Eminem and being worried because i hadn't shaved my legs. Then we had 'you know what' and then i can't remember anything else, obviously he wasn't that good lol!
Then i remember being in my living room and there was a huge tree there near the window. It had loads of cobwebs on it and when i tried to wipe one off this huge spider about 7 inches wide landed on my foot. I screamed and then woke up feeling rather sick.

What on earth is all that about then? Do you have weird dreams??

I'm ready a fabulous book at the moment calle 'The Bad Mother's Handbook'
No, it isn't a bad for Bad mothers, or at least i don't think it is but it's a book about life and it's ups and downs. I'd definately recommend it to everyone!

    Synopsis
The Bad Mother's Handbook is the story of a year in the lives of Charlotte, Karen, and Nan, none of whom can quite believe how things have turned out. Why is it all so difficult? Why do the most ridiculous mistakes have the most disastrous consequences? When are you too old to throw up in a flowerbed after too much vodka? When are you too young to be a mother? Both hilarious and wise, it is a clear-eyed look at motherhood - and childhood - in its many guises, from the moment the condom breaks to the moment you file for divorce or, more optimistically, from the moment you hear your baby's first cry to the moment you realize that there are as many sorts of mother as there are children, and that love sometimes is the most important thing of all.

Today has been one of those days when no matter how hard i have worked nothing seems to have been done.
After returning home on Saturday i have done 6 loads of washing and thus spend 3 hrs this morning ironing. Even now though there is a pile of laundry about 4 ft high in my kitchen so even though it is 1030 in the evening i am off to do said ironing :(
    I wish i could afford a cleaner!

    Alison Lapper
    Saturday, September 17, 2005
Alison lapper is an amazing woman. Born with a rare chromosomal disorder which is not unlike thalidomide, Alison Lapper did not have any arms and had only very short legs. She refers to her condition as: "limb deficiency". She is a remarkable lady in many respects. She has coped with her disability, put herself through university, raised a perfectly healthy son, established a successful career as a talented artist and won the respect of very many people.

Alison is also fiercely independent, refusing to wear any form of prosthetic limb.

In 2000, after a brief relationship with an able-bodied man she says: "I quite unexpectedly, and quite happily fell pregnant, and he ran a mile". Alison became a single-parent to a boy she named Parys.

In the summer of 2003 in Madrid, Spain, Alison attended a Women and Disability Conference where she spoke on motherhood and maternity. Prior to this she visited Buckingham Palace at the Queen's invitation to receive an M.B.E, for her Services to Art.

A sculpture of Alison has won a competition to occupy the 4th plinth in Trafalgar Square and was launched a couple of days ago. The statue was created by sculptor Marc Quinn and feature s Alison naked and pregnant.

Over the past five years Alison has achieved public recognition as an artist and a champion of the disabled, but it's still being a mother that is the focus of her life.

There has been public outrage about this. I think it's wonderful. What do you think??

Today we went to Lulworth Cove. What a truly gorgeous place! It was a lovely sunny day but very chilly and breezy so coats for us and a hat for Corey :)

Once we'd been there we went to Swanage for a look round and then had lunch there. Then we crossed over on the car ferry to Poole and then onto Bournemouth to look for a Scrapbook shop i'd heard of calle the Hobby Horse. We did find it after about 45 mins and i spend a few quid which is a record for me!
The back home and had Tea and packed ready for tomorrow :( Don't want to go home.
We are setting off at 4am again to get back early.

So Corey was up late again, nearly 8am. Bet he's up at 6am or something daft like that when we get home!
So we went to Marwell Zoo today. We had a great time apart from the weather. It was about an hours drive from where we were staying. It stayed fine up until about 12 o'clock and then the heavens opened and it poured down. We got a wee bit wet to say the least but we still enjoyed ourselves. The place was massive and we all enjoyed it. I love to see the animals in good surroundings and it was nice for Corey to see them as he's never been to a Zoo before. The best thing about it was that because the weather wasn't great there were'nt too many people about.

After we left the Zoo we drove to nearby Salisbury to have a look round as it was somewhere we hadn't been before. We didn't stay that long because of the weather but it was nice to see the cathedral and browse round the shops.

Had to wake Corey up at 830am this morning or he would have slept til lunchtime. Must have been all that fresh air yesterday.
We went to the Otter, Owl & Wildlife Park today. To be honest i wasn't too impressed. Alot of the cages seemt to be empty and we spent a while walking round looking at nothing. The highlight was walking into an enclosure where there were 2 tame deer. They had been hand reared and let you stroke them, it was cool! Then i got up close to some wallabies and got some good pictures.

Then we drove in Lymington for a look around and had lunch at a pub near the harbour. It was a lovely place. We droe back along the coast stopping off to admire the coastal scenery. Went for a walk by the river when we got back.
Had a yummy chinese takeaway for dinner.

Drove into Christchurch today. Apparently i went there when i was very little but have no recollection of it at all. Was a really lovely place though. Had a nice walk by the Priory and the river and took Corey on the swings. Went and had a coffee and a snack and then drove into Bournemouth as the weather wasn't too bad, just a little breezy. Corey enjoyed playing on the beach again. It's funny but whenever he saw the see out of the car window he would squeal with delight.

Corey decided he wanted to bury his head in the sand and nearly made himself sick as he had sand in his mouth, ears and nose. I never miss a photo opportunity though!
Had a nice walk along then pier and then headed back to the lodge.
Had to queue for about 10 mins to get some petrol because of all the panic buying. Went out for a meal to a lovely pub called The Three Bears, typical country inn with thatched roof and everything. Corey was his usual load self though while we were in there. Not sure whats wrong with him at the moment, all he wants to do is shout!

So, we decided yesterday that we were going to go to Weymouth for the day. As it was a fair trek we decided to go on the train as we both get free rail travel with Dave working for the railways. So we drove to Christchurch to catch the train. Dave had been going on at me for weeks about had i got my train passes which i always keep in my purse so you can guess what happened next. Yep, my darling husband didn't have his passes!!!!! Arghhhhhhhhh i could have killed him. He did have some passes but he had picked his sons up instead of his. How dumb can you get! ANyway after much cursing from me he had to buy a ticket which was basically £10 down the drain. Took us about an hour on the train but Corey enjoyed it as he'd never been on one before. it was a red hot day and Corey loved messing on the beach and paddling in the sea.

That was until he fell in and then we had the tears, but only for a minute.
It's amazing that a child who won't eat food will happily eat sand don't you think? Maybe it was eating the sand that made him eat so well in the evening, in fact i've never known him eat so much!
Went out in the evening for a pub meal but it wasn't anything to write home about.

On a high note, England won the Cricket today and regained the Ashes after 18 yrs!! WOOHOO!

Today we went into Poole which is the next town on from Bournemouth so not too far away. We decided to take a ferry over to a little island offshore called Brownsea Island. It's part of the National Trust and is very picturesque as well as being a haven for red squirrels, something which you don't see very often these days. We did manage to see quite a few but having my crappy camera(which incidently cost £350) i didn't manage to capture any :( They had a little tea shop on the island so we decided to have lunch there before heading back to Poole on the ferry. Had a look round Poole when we got back onto dry land and then went back to the lodge and went for a swim. Bit disappointed as the baby pools were out of order so Corey had to go in the big pool which meant he couldn't stand and have a paddle. Anyway, although he was shivering i think he enjoyed it.

Didn't do much in the evening, it's difficult to go out late with the little one.

So we decided to set off early, 415am to be precise! Not my idea but my lovely hubby's! Anyway i got to sleep in the car so i wasn't too fussed. Corey woke up and didn't go back to sleep until late so that didn't help. We stopped off about 7am to get some breakfast but setting off early even with an hours stop meant we got there at 930am and had the full day to ourselves. We stopped off at the centre where we were staying just to check it out and were very impressed.
We could see that the lodge we were staying in overlooked fields and the river and was generally in a lovely spot.

The inside of the lodge was great too. 2 bedrooms, a living room, kitchen/dining room and bathroom, plenty big enough for the 3 of us.

The sun came out and we headed into Bournemouth to look round.Corey went on the beach and loved it. Had lunch and then it did rain a little so we headed back to the lodge to check in and unpack and had a short walk to the river which was at the bottom of the hill.
There was glorious sunshine now and the river looked beautiful.

I desperately need a better camera. I saw loads of dragonflies but my camera hasn't got a great zoom on it and i couldn't capture then.

I must say i have never stayed in a place as peaceful in my life. When we went to bed you could have heard a pin drop it was so quiet, although i was woken in the small hours by something which sounded very much like a monkey lol!

    Grumpy Men
    Friday, September 09, 2005
I hate grumpy men! My hubby is a grumpy man. Well at the moment he is.

We had an argument on Tues which sort of spread into Weds but Thurs i rang him at work and tried to work it out with him to which he said ok. nyways, he came home yesterday still in a bad mood. To say he's just finished work for 17 days you would think he would have been slightly happier but oh no, he said he was pissed off. By this time so was i. So we sort of made up but he's been sat with a face like a long weekend all last night and most of today. Every word i've said he's turned it around and tryed to make me feel bad. So i told him enough is enough and we either sort it out or i am not going on vacation! Anyway i think we are ok now. He's just giving (or not as the case is) Corey his lunch and there is tomato sauce all over my carpet *gringe*.
I've been doing a touch of the flylady as i like the house to be tidy for when i go away. Not really sure why?? Maybe so i don't have to do it when i come back. It's a bit ironic really isn't it that the house is tidy when i'm not going to be in it but when i am it's a mess! So last night i thoroughly cleaned my craft room. It is spotless, not even a scrap of paper on the floor, which is really unusual. I did our bedroom this morning and Coreys and have hoovered up everywhere. I have packed and just need to sort out toiletries and stuff. We are driving through the night so setting off around 2am so we get there in the morning. I've told DH i'll sleep in the car so i should be ok, but i might have to stay awake and talk to him in case he gets sleepy. So i'll not be around for a week or so. Catcha later :)

Here's the place we are staying at -
