Well, we are still abit in the dark about things. DH still has a job but the one he currently does won't exist anymore so he will be moved to another position. It should still be doing the work he does now but with a different job title. The problem being is that he probably won't have 'Manager' in his job title anymore and this bears the question about his salary. At the moment we are lucky enough that his salary brings in enough for me to be at home with Corey but if they decrease this then i might have to go out and get a job. Now i'm not afraid of hard work at all. Before Corey came along i used to work a 50hr week. My only problem is that i would have to work in the evenings and then i would never get to see Dave :( Corey doesn't eat well enough to go to daycare and there is only Dave and I that can actually get him to eat anything. So we wait and see. His boss seems to think that they can't lower his salary but this company is capable of anything! Why couldn't they just wait to do this until after Christmas!
I'm sat here feeling sick waiting for hubby to call. They are having a re-organisation at his company and last time they did this they made people redundant. He is currently in a meeting which will tell people what is happening. Please let his job be safe!
Well the weekend has been pretty great! Friday evening and Saturday i spent doing my Christmas cards and thankfully am well on my way to finishing them. I also got started on the gifts i am making for Christmas. Yesterday we all went to a christening. Weren't looking forward to it as we aren't really church people but it was ok. Corey behaved himself relatively well through the service and then we went to a local pub where they had a bit of a party. We were a bit worried because with Corey having a bit of a phobia about loud noises we thought he might freak out in a large crowd. Well he suprised us all. He was running around, very sociable, and as soon as someone put the music on he was up dancing. It was such a wonderful sight to see. Everyone was pointing and saying they thought he was amazing. Couldn't agree more!
Today we haven't done too much apart from a bit of shopping and a trip to the Post Office. I managed to get all my cards sent to my friends in the states so hopefully they should get them soon. What with those, plus a couple of parcels and stamps to send my UK cards it cost me a small fortune! It is so cold here today! When we walked to the Post Office it was so cold my head was numb and my hands. I must buy a hat! I've had the heating turned up to full and have still had to put a long sleeved top on at times. It was actually snowing this afternoon. Corey was watching out of the window and his little face was lit up. Hopefully we'll get enough that he can have a play :)
Ok so i tried Flylady once and failed miserably. I got sick of receiving an email every 5 mins and so unsubscribed and ever since my house has been a mess(well i do have a 2yr old you know!) So i signed up about a week ago, AGAIN and so far i am doing really well!

I went to bed early but woke around 1am with terrible stomach ache which ended up with me spending several hrs in the bathroom (gross i know!) Anyway i did everntually manage to get a few hrs sleep and Core decided to let mummy have a lie in and didn't get up until 8am :) He's been getting up at 6am recently so lets hope he's changing his ways. He was awake in the night too, well 4.30am to be precise. Think he'd had a nightmare but a quick cuddle and he soon went back to sleep. I still had headache when i woke up but perked up around lunchtime and apart from feeling a bit tired i feel fine now. DH just sent me over some pictures they had taken at the Charity even they held to raise money for the hospital where Corey was born. I couldn't go cause i wasn't well AND it was Cybercrop weekend so i didn't personally get any pics but they had a professional photographer there luckily! Hubby is the one in the black wig lol. They were singing the Sonny and Cher classic 'I got you Babe'
Well i'm having a pretty crap day :( I didn't sleep too well and have ended up with a terrible migraine so haven't done hardly anything today exept veg out on the sofa. I really wanted to crack on with some christmas cards too as i wanted to get most of them done before December. I always seem to be on the last leg with everything and wanted to be different this yr! I have trillions of cards to do, some Christmas gifts to make and Lauras 18th Birthday album which has all of 3 layouts in it at the moment! Managed to finish one last night and i don't think staying up late again has done me any favours. I will make sure i'm in bed early tonight! Dh has been a bit off as well today so we've been a right pair!
Had a fabulous day yesterday at the Scrapaholics crop. I got most of a layout done of Corey so need to finish that off this week. Had such a laugh with some of the girls and it really lifted my spirits. It's amazing how getting out of the house and being with people can feel exhilarating! Anyway the next one is in 3 wks and it can't come soon enough! Don't get me wrong, i have friends who i see regularly but getting together all together at the crop is fab! You scrapping girls will know what i mean by that. Unfortunetely my friend Dawn couldn't make it but hopefully next time :) Corey is being a pain in the bum at the moment. Really whingey and clingey so don't know what that's all about. He's been getting up at 6am recently too so i just know that when DH gets up in the morning at 530am i'll be getting up too!
Well, think i better get off here and have a lie down!
Well we had a great day yesterday. Corey really seemt to enjoy himself. Such a contrast from last yr when he didn't really understand what was going on. He had so many presents and this morning has been spent sorting his toys out, throwing stuff away and boxing stuff up that he doesn't use that much and wondering if i should give it away or keep it????!!!!! Here are some pictures from his birthday. As you can see from the pictures he got some presents in the morning before Dad went to work and then had the ones from us in the evening when Daddy came home. I also gave him a haircut yesterday as he was ready from one and he looks totally cute now!
The one on the left on the bottom row is what my living room looked liked before we tidie up after Corey had gone to bed. Looked like an explosion in a toy factory!!! The middle one is him in his new PJ's :)
Well i think maybe Corey has hit the terrible twos a day early. Tomorrow my wee little man will be 2! But today he has been the child from hell! It started in the early hours really when he woke us up crying. He normally sleeps through so this wasn't usual. Up at 7am and didn't want to eat breakfast. Moaned for most of the morning. Putting on my make-up i went into the kitchen for a minute to get my drink to come back in the living room and find Corey drawing on the sofa with my black eyeliner pencil! Luckily i have a throw on there so he didn't actually get the sofa but it's still a mess. Lunchtime and again he didn't want to eat. My friend Jill came early afternoon and Corey decided to run around resulting in himfalling, splitting his lip AGAIN and then proceeded to vomit his lunch everywhere! After Jill had gone i decided to do some ironing so i had a jug full of water on the side but out of reach, or so i thought. You can guess what's coming next can't you? Little hands reach further than you think and Corey proceeded to pull the water all over him and then carpet. He thought it was quite funny. Then we had his drink all over the floor and at dinner time we had my drink poured all over the floor. He is now in bed and HOPEFULLY that's where he'll stay, nice and quiet, until at least 7am tomorrow!!
I have had a really good weekend. Saturday i went to the Hobbycrafts show at the Birmigham NEC. Spent far too much money(my friend Dawns fault) but i was more than happy with my purchases. SOme of them have gone to Santa bit i am using the Black QK squeeze i bought along with the Stiletto and Olivia alphabets and some Christmas rubber stamps i got for making my Christmas cards. Yesterday we spent a nice leisurely day. Went for a walk in the woods and took some nice pics of Corey. Had dinner, scrapped a bit, watched some TV and fell asleep quite early for me before being woken by the grumpy Mr Corey! Today i managed to get a rocking horse for Corey for Christmas for £25 on Price Drop TV. I hope it's nice when it arrives!
A few people have asked me about the TV Stick i have just bought for my PC. I received it yesterday and it's faberoony! The only downside is i'm using a portable aerial and you could really do with an external one as the pictures can be a bit jumpy and sometimes you lose signal. Anyway, well worth the £45 inc P&P and they delivered in less thatn 24 hrs!! Here's the link -
Wow, what a few busy days i've had. Christmas shopping, visitors, doctors appts, the list goes on. Have spent a small fortune this month on Chrissy presents and will spend even more at the Birmingham NEC tomorrow. Me and my friend Dawn are going to the Hobbycrafts event and i intend on spend, spend, spending money lol. DH has given me money for Christmas so i can get some extra stash :) Anyway I am way behind on stuff i need to do. I ran out of ink and paper for both my printers and so had to go to the shopping centre on Weds to get cartridges and photo paper which cost me £55 :o Trust them all to run out at the same time! I need to get started on Christmas cards as well as Lauras 18th birthday album which only has 1 layout in it so far! I am also doing some nice gift things for some friends(can't reveal as they read this blog :) so have to get cracking on those but don't have the stuff yet although most of it has been ordered! Yesterday we walked to Meadowhall again and i got Corey a lovely Christmas hat and a huge Polar bear in a red jacket and hat called Parker. We have yet to take some pictures of him with the hat and bear cause i just haven't had time so have uploaded a couple i took last week. This morning he has been to have his flu jabs the poor little lamb. It has knocked his duck off a little so to speak and he's been very lethargic and clingy this afternoon. He even went to bed for a hour this afternoon and we don't normally have 2 naps a day just one in a morning. That might have something to do with the fact that he had us up between 1am and 3am this morning. Not sure what was wrong with him but he kept crying and wouldn't settle. In the end it got to the point where i just laid him down and said no, i'm not cuddling you know so go back to sleep. That seemed to do the trick and we didn't hear anymore from him. he is very good usually but we do have the odd night. Hopefully the jabs won't cause much of an adverse reaction tonight as i have to be up early in the morning!
This last week i have been a regular Delia Smith! I cook every night usually but buy ready made stuff like Lasagnes and Shepherds Pie etc.... This last week i have made Vege Lasagne from scratch, Scotch Broth, Homemade Pizzas, Rostis and Macaroni cheese. I even made an Apple pie! Not sure why but i just decided i wanted to be a bit more adventurous. Let's hope i can keep it up!
I've just ordered a wonderful little gadget. I saw it on Ideal World this morning and on browsing the web found it for about £10 cheaper than it was on there! Anyway it's a little device you plug into you USB port on the PC and you can get Freeview TV on your desktop! As well as that you can record programmes to your hard drive and then record them onto DVD! Woohoo, i'll be able to burn Boogie Beebies onto disk for Corey cause you can get CBeebies on freeview!
Yet again i've been reduced to an emotional wreck by watching a TV program :( This time it was about a little girl with a condition called FOP which is basically a genetic incurable disease where the muscles in the body turn to bone. It really is heart rending.
Where on earth does the time go to? I'm sure it was only Friday yesterday? Where did the weekend go? It's whizzed past and i have absolutely no idea what i did! Absolutely nothing i think, not a thing. Last night i did make a couple of cards but apart from that it's been a pretty uneventful few days. We did go shopping on Saturday for Corey's birthday presents. So far he has a Mega etchasketch thing, a huge tractor book, a big fire engine that is fill with lego, a Thomas the Tank Engine musical train, some boats for the bath, some new shoes, and a playtray with wooden trains in it. Daves Dad is giving Corey money for his birthday next week so we are getting him a new snowsuit for the cold winter. Apparently it's going to be the worst since 1963 :o
Corey and I have been out Christmas shopping this morning. The shops are so busy already though and it isn't nice pushing a toddler around in a pram through the crowds. I got Dave some books and some North Face gloves for when he goes out walking. Halfway home i discovered that the chocolate milkshake i had bought from M&S had leaked. Leaked out of the bag and all down the bottom of my trousers, which incidentally where not brown and therefore camouflaged but in fact were tracksuit bottoms of a very pale blue variety and so i looked like, well i can't really say what i looked like someone had done all down the front of my trousers. By the way, baby wipes do not get milkshake out of clothes!!
Tomorrow i HAVE HAVE HAVE to go to the post office. I have 2 letters and 3 CJs i need to post or i'll be in big trouble. I just received my Fairy CJ back. All lovely and pink and finished and now covered in red crayon from where Mr Corey found it and decided it needed an artistic twist!
I think tonight i may just sleep in my own bed. I feel much better and don't seem to be coughing nowhere near as much. I do however have a lovely coldsore, ouch!!!! and it's that time of the month so i am bloaty and in pain :( I resemble a beached whale!
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY Friday. I love Fridays! I think it's my fave day of the week. It's the day DH's son stops so i get the whole evening to play in my craft room without interruption. Then i usually get a lie in bed Saturday morning and can either go out with the family or stay at home and just chill out and do what i want. Tomorrow i think i might go and get Corey's birthday presents. Can you believe that my ickle baby boy is going to be 2yrs old in 10 days time :o This is the little boy who weighed just over 2lbs and nearly died several times. This is the little boy who spent 154 days in hospital and came home having to be tube fed and requiring oxygen. Today he is a very lively little man who apart from being developmentally delayed a little and still having feeding problems is just your regular run of the mill kid, well apart from being very special that is! Sometimes i get depressed about his delays and his lack of feeding but there are so many scenarios we were faced with that i should really count myself very lucky. He endured 6 months of high dosed steroids and we were told there could be a high possibility he would have Cerebral palsy. He had a Grade 4 brain haemorrhage at birth(they are graded 1-4 in severity) and we were told of the possibility of retardation. He had a major cyst in his lung and we were very close to having to have part of his lung removed. But all of these we avoided and i am so very thankful for that. I guess what i'm trying to say is that i am very lucky to have a relatively healthy 2 yr old and i love him with all my heart!
Today has been a really weird day. My friend came round this morning for coffee and a chat so i was late putting Corey down for his lunchtime nap. he normally has an hrs sleep and then gets up and has his lunch. cause it was so late today i gave him his lunch first and then put him down for a nap. I've done this before so there isn't a problem in this. Anyway he woke up an hour later and i went to fetch him to find him lying in a pile of vomit. It was everywhere. All over his face, in his hair and his clothes were covered. He was just getting up from lying on his tummy by the looks of things so i don't know if it had just happened or if he had done it in his sleep?? Anyway, once i'd cleaned him up he was ok. Then this afternoon, being the bad mummy i am, Corey managed to get the Fabric softener off the side and get the lid off. I walked into the living room to find the contents all over the carpetb and Corey sat with the lid in his mouth. Luckily he only had it on his upper lip and not in his mouth. If i had had a child who ate and drank normally then i would have been worried he'd drank some but he won't even drink from a normal sippy cup by himself. Anyway, he thought this was all very funny and laughed and smiled whilst i cleaned up Lavender Lenor from the carpet, hence to say it smells rather nice now! And then onto this evening. Bedtime 7pm, still awake at 8pm due to all the fireworks :( Had to go downstairs and sit on Daddy's lap while he fell asleep but he is now sound asleep thankfully!
Well, just thought i'd update you all on how i'm doing. I still sound terrible and although i don't feel too bad i still have a crappy cough and cold. I'm on Day 3 of 5 of my antibiotics and i would have thought that my cough would have subsided by now but it hasn't. Anyway i am feeling better in myself so that's something, so much so that i actually did a CJ last night :) Oh, and i woke up this morning with a coldsore! I really want to go and see my uncle as he's just had a heart attack and is in hospital but i can't at the moment with being sick, wouldn't do him any good would it. Corey has a lovely bruised face today, just above his lip where he fell yesterday. He isn't fazed by it at all though. He's been a bugger with his food today and hasn't wanted to eat anything.
I've been to the ASDA again tonight to get a few bits. I seriously don't like the place now. The only great thing about it is the location. It's only a 10 minute walk for us and 2 mins in the car, but we've had allsorts of problems recently. Firstly there was me slipping in there and their lack of customer service, constantly empty shelves and yesterday hubby brought home a cooked chicken for me to find it still raw in the middle. I recently ran a survey on a forum i am a member of and was astounded by the results. I thought ASDA was a clear favourite with the British population but it seems Tesco is the clear favourite. So i have decided to give them a try. I ordered my shopping with them online last night and it's being delivered tomorrow. The delivery charge is higher than ASDAs as are some of there prices but if i get what i want and the quality is good then i don't mind. Apparently when it comes to fruit and veg ASDA are last in the supermarket chains to get any so they end up with whatever is left. Now i know why my veg always goes off quickly! That reminds me too. Never buy cheap nappies. I thought i would save a couple of quid and bought ASDA own brand nappies(i usually use Huggies). They were terrible. Rough to the touch, no elastic in sight and i had to rip the seams apart cause they were stuck together!
